Eye drop showdown: three drugs battle to prevent Post-Cataract swelling

NCT ID NCT07178639

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study compares three different anti-inflammatory eye drops (bromfenac, nepafenac, and diclofenac) to see which one best prevents macular edema—a swelling in the back of the eye—after cataract surgery. About 150 adults having cataract surgery will be randomly assigned one of the three drops to use before and after their operation. Researchers will check their vision and eye thickness over six weeks to find the most effective option.
