First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study compared two approved non-thermal ablation techniques for treating atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). One hundred patients with recurrent, symptomatic paroxysmal AFib were randomly assigned to one of the two methods. The researchers tracked how well each method prevented arrhythmia episodes over 12 months, as well as complications and brain lesions detected by MRI.
