First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at 91 adults having forearm, wrist, or hand surgery to compare two types of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks near the collarbone. The goal was to see which method causes less temporary paralysis of the diaphragm, the main muscle for breathing. Researchers measured diaphragm movement with ultrasound and also checked how well the block worked for pain control.
