First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study compares two vaginal medications—misoprostol and dinoprostone—for starting labor in first-time mothers who are at least 40 weeks pregnant and have not gone into labor on their own. 240 women will receive one of the two drugs to see which leads to more successful vaginal deliveries and with fewer side effects. The goal is to find the safer, more effective option for inducing labor.
