Doctors test which way is best to zap large kidney stones

NCT ID NCT07362784

Summary

This study compared two surgical techniques for removing large kidney stones stuck in the upper ureter. One hundred adult patients were randomly assigned to have their stones broken up using either an 'antegrade' (through the kidney) or 'retrograde' (through the bladder) approach. Researchers measured which method was more effective at completely removing stones, safer, and resulted in a shorter hospital stay.
