Surgeons test new path to heal broken jaws

NCT ID NCT07403708

Summary

This study compared two different surgical methods for fixing a broken jaw joint (subcondylar fracture). Twenty patients were randomly assigned to have surgery using either a newer approach (Transmasseteric Anteroparotid) or a more traditional one (Retromandibular Transparotid). The goal was to see which method was better at avoiding facial nerve damage, reducing pain, and improving patient satisfaction with the scar over a 3-month follow-up.
