Could skipping a key IVF drug make treatment easier and cheaper?

NCT ID NCT06879002

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares two approaches to ovarian stimulation for IVF. The standard method uses a drug (GnRH antagonist) to prevent early ovulation. The new method starts stimulation after ovulation, relying on the body's natural progesterone to prevent early ovulation, potentially reducing the number of injections. The study will enroll 252 women aged 18-38 with normal cycles to see if the simpler approach works just as well.
