New hope for couples facing severe sperm shape problems: simple lab boost may double baby chances
NCT ID NCT06561451
First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study compares two fertility treatments for couples where the male partner has severe sperm shape problems (teratospermia). Half of the 208 couples will receive standard ICSI (sperm injected directly into the egg), while the other half will get ICSI plus a short chemical bath to activate the egg. The goal is to see if the added step leads to more live births. Women must be 20-37 and have at least three mature eggs.
