New study aims to make hysterectomy safer and less painful

NCT ID NCT07601971

First seen May 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to perform laparoscopic hysterectomy (removing the uterus through small cuts) in 44 women aged 35 and older with non-cancer conditions like fibroids or abnormal bleeding. One method cauterizes the uterine artery before removal, while the other uses the standard approach. The goal is to see which method causes less blood loss, shorter surgery time, and less pain after the operation.
