Eye surgeons test which tool works better for delicate oil removal
NCT ID NCT07363889
Summary
This study compares two different surgical techniques for removing silicone oil from eyes that previously had retinal detachment surgery. Researchers are testing whether using a specialized vitrectomy machine or a modified spring-loaded syringe is safer and more effective. The study involves 200 patients who need this follow-up procedure to see which method causes fewer complications.
