Teen jaw study tests new vs. old expanders

NCT ID NCT07404488

Summary

This study compared three different dental devices used to widen a narrow upper jaw in teenagers. Researchers tested two newer bone-anchored expanders against a traditional tooth-anchored device in 36 adolescents. They measured how each device affected jaw bone, teeth, gums, and nasal airways over six months to see which worked best.
