Shock showdown: which defibrillator works better for irregular heartbeat?
NCT ID NCT05992623
Summary
This study compared two different types of electrical shocks used by defibrillators to restore normal heart rhythm in people with atrial fibrillation. Researchers tested 546 patients to see whether a 200J shock from a Zoll defibrillator or a 360J shock from a Lifepak defibrillator was more effective at converting the heart back to normal rhythm. The study also tracked any side effects from the treatments.
