Sleep apnea study: which treatment is safer for your heart?
NCT ID NCT05491967
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study looked at 172 adults with obstructive sleep apnea to compare the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and eye problems between two common treatments: a CPAP machine and a dental mouthpiece. Researchers did not give any new treatment—they simply observed patients already using one of these devices. The goal was to see if one treatment is linked to fewer cardiovascular events.
