Cavity showdown: three prevention methods face off in schoolchildren trial

Summary

This study compares three ways to prevent cavities in the first permanent molars of 204 Mexican schoolchildren aged 6-8. One group gets fluoride varnish, another gets a glass ionomer sealant plus varnish, and the third gets a Giomer sealant. All kids also receive dental health education. Researchers will track new cavities over 2 years to find the most effective prevention method.
