Which blood thinner works best for APS patients? new study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT07372170

First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at two types of blood thinners (DOACs and VKAs) to see which is better at preventing repeat blood clots in people with a low-risk form of antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). APS is an autoimmune condition that raises the risk of dangerous clots. The study will follow 600 adults already taking one of these medications as part of their normal care and track how many have another clot or a bleeding problem. The goal is to provide clearer guidance on the best treatment option for these patients.
