Summary

This study compared two types of blood filters used during heart-lung bypass in children's heart surgery. Researchers wanted to see which filter type better removes inflammation-causing substances called cytokines from the blood. The study involved 60 children aged 1-15 years who were having planned heart surgery requiring bypass.
