First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at two different types of archwires used in braces to see which one straightens teeth faster and causes less pain. Thirty people aged 18-25 with mild crowding in their lower front teeth took part. Researchers measured tooth movement with 3D scans and checked pain levels using a scale and a chemical marker in the gums called PGE2. The goal was to find out if the newer copper-nickel-titanium wire works better than the standard nickel-titanium wire.
