Heart surgeons test less invasive aortic repair

NCT ID NCT07272655

Summary

This study compares two different surgical approaches for treating Type A aortic dissection, a serious condition where the inner layer of the body's main artery tears. Researchers want to see if a less extensive surgery works as well as a more complex surgery at preventing blood from re-entering the damaged area. The study will enroll 250 patients who will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two surgical procedures.
