New anesthesia approach may speed recovery in lung cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07327736

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study compares two types of anesthesia for people having surgery to remove small, early-stage lung cancers (≤3 cm). One method lets patients breathe on their own during surgery, while the other uses a breathing tube. The goal is to see which approach leads to a shorter hospital stay, less pain medication, and faster recovery. About 410 adults with suspected early non-small cell lung cancer will take part.
