First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding a sedative called dexmedetomidine to the standard anesthetic propofol leads to more stable heart rates during a lung procedure called rigid bronchoscopy. Fifty adults scheduled for this procedure were randomly assigned to receive either the combination or propofol alone. The goal was to find a safer way to keep patients asleep and comfortable during the operation.
