Therapy showdown: can ACT or CBSM ease caregiver burden?

NCT ID NCT07329868

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested two types of talk therapy—acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioral stress management (CBSM)—to see if they help caregivers of cancer patients. 66 caregivers were split into three groups: one received ACT, one received CBSM, and one received no therapy. Both therapies aimed to reduce fear of cancer returning, improve quality of life, and lower stress and fatigue. The results will show which approach works best for supporting caregivers.
