Heart study tests if 3D mapping improves common ablation procedure

NCT ID NCT07118046

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study compares two methods for guiding a procedure that treats atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). The procedure uses a special balloon to isolate the veins that trigger the irregular rhythm. One method uses only X-ray images, while the other adds a 3D map of the heart. The goal is to see if the 3D map leads to better long-term results. About 96 adults with atrial fibrillation will take part.
