Summary

This study tests a program called the Community Mobility Planning Process (CMPP) for young adults aged 16-30 with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. Over 8 weeks, participants work with support staff on activities to plan how to get around their community more independently. The goal is to see if the program is practical and helpful, not yet to prove it works.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Community Mobility Planning Process (CMPP) - a behavioral program with worksheets and discussions

What this could lead to

If it works, this could lead to a practical tool that helps young adults with intellectual disabilities gain more independence and confidence in daily activities.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 60 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The program is still being tested for feasibility, not proven to work.
