First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested whether nursing care based on Kolcaba's comfort theory helps patients feel more comfortable and have less pain after open heart valve surgery. Fifty-six adults in a heart surgery clinic received either standard care or comfort-focused nursing. Researchers measured comfort and pain levels at the start and 72 hours later. The goal was to see if this gentle approach improves recovery.
