New combo therapy aims to heal Radiation-Damaged jaw bones

NCT ID NCT06055257

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining hyperbaric oxygen therapy (breathing pure oxygen in a special chamber) with a medication regimen called PENTOCLO works better than hyperbaric oxygen alone for treating a serious side effect of head and neck cancer radiation: dead bone in the jaw. About 24 adults with this condition will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to see if the combination reduces pain, side effects, and the need for surgery, and to guide a larger future study.
