NCT ID NCT07444762
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This completed Phase 3 trial tested whether taking two cholesterol-lowering drugs together works better than one alone. 184 adults with high cholesterol or mixed dyslipidemia took either the combo or a single drug daily for 8 weeks. The main goal was to see how much LDL ('bad') cholesterol dropped.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
DW5421A and DW5421B (two cholesterol-lowering drugs taken as pills)
What this could lead to
If successful, this combination could offer a more effective way to lower LDL cholesterol than using one drug alone, potentially reducing heart disease risk.
What could go wrong
This is a completed Phase 3 trial, but results are not yet published. The combination may not be significantly better than the single drug, or could cause more side effects.
