Can a scan accurately spot hidden colon tumors before surgery?

NCT ID NCT07351890

Summary

This study checked how well a special ultrasound scan (called endoscopic ultrasound or EUS) can correctly identify tumors growing in the wall of the colon or rectum before surgery. Researchers looked back at 270 patients who had the scan and then had their tumors removed to compare the scan's guess with the actual lab results. The goal is to find out what factors help or hurt the scan's accuracy so doctors can make better decisions for future patients.
