Cancer trial challenges standard practice: keep using drug after it stops working?

Summary
This large Phase 3 trial is testing whether continuing the targeted drug cetuximab after initial treatment stops working can help control metastatic colorectal cancer. The study will compare continuing cetuximab with switching to a different drug (bevacizumab), both given with chemotherapy. Researchers aim to see if this approach helps shrink tumors and extend life for patients whose cancer has specific genetic markers.
