New MRI scan could reveal hidden cancer response in liver tumors

NCT ID NCT04796818

First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study is testing a special MRI scan called IVIM DWI to see if it can measure how well colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver responds to chemotherapy. About 70 people with treatable liver tumors will get the scan before and after chemo, before surgery. The goal is to find a better way to tell if the treatment is working, without needing a biopsy.
