Could fewer colonoscopies be just as safe after polyp removal?

NCT ID NCT07328308

Summary

This study aims to determine if a less frequent follow-up schedule after removing large colon polyps is just as safe and effective as the current standard schedule. Researchers will compare two groups: one receiving colonoscopies at 6, 18, and 48 months versus another receiving them at 12 and 48 months only. The goal is to see if reducing the number of follow-up procedures maintains safety while potentially lowering patient burden and healthcare costs.
