First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing whether taking collagen peptides by mouth for three months can improve the skin barrier in women aged 45 to 70 with dry, sensitive skin. Seventy-five participants will receive either a low dose, a high dose, or a placebo (flavored water). The main goal is to measure changes in skin barrier function on the face using a device called a Tewameter.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple daily supplement to improve skin hydration and barrier function for women with dry skin.
