Can a simple collagen graft save your jawbone after a tooth pull?

NCT ID NCT07270510

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at whether placing a collagen matrix into a tooth socket right after extraction helps preserve bone and gum tissue better than letting it heal naturally. Twenty-four healthy adults needing a single-rooted tooth pulled will be randomly assigned to get the graft or not. Researchers will use 3D scans and measurements taken right after surgery and again three months later to compare changes in bone height, width, and gum thickness.
