Collagen shots aim to soothe heel pain in new study
NCT ID NCT02539082
First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether injecting collagen into the heel can safely ease pain from plantar fasciitis, a common cause of foot pain. 60 adults with chronic heel pain that didn't improve with other treatments received either collagen or a control injection. Researchers measured pain levels and heel thickness over 12 months to see if the collagen helped more than the control.
