Ice pack study aims to cut painkiller use after shoulder surgery

NCT ID NCT07455474

Summary

This study tested whether using a cold compression device after rotator cuff surgery helps patients feel less pain and use fewer opioid painkillers. Researchers compared 50 patients who received standard care to those who also used the cold therapy device for 30 days after surgery. They measured pain levels, medication use, sleep quality, and shoulder movement to see if the cold therapy made recovery easier.
