Chill out: cold therapy studied for infant chest tube pain

NCT ID NCT05046834

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study planned to test if applying a cold pack during and after chest tube removal could lower pain and keep vital signs stable in infants and children up to 3 years old. Researchers would measure pain using a special scale and check heart rate, breathing, oxygen levels, and temperature. However, the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled, so no results are available.
