Chilling solution could stop painful complication after common medical procedure
NCT ID NCT07381478
Summary
This study tested if rinsing a specific area in the digestive tract with cold saline solution immediately after a common procedure called ERCP can prevent a painful complication known as pancreatitis. Around 900 adults in Colombia were randomly assigned to receive either the cold rinse or standard care after their procedure. The main goal was to see if the cold rinse reduced the number of people who developed pancreatitis within 24 hours.
