Cold comfort: icy cushion tested for nerve pain patch discomfort
NCT ID NCT02869867
Summary
This study tested whether applying a cooling cushion during placement of a capsaicin pain patch reduces the burning sensation patients often feel. Researchers compared 100 adults with localized nerve pain who received the standard patch versus those who received the patch with a cooling cushion. The goal was to find a simple way to make this pain treatment more comfortable during application.
