Common gout drug tested as lifeline for advanced liver cancer patients

NCT ID NCT04264260

Summary

This study tested whether colchicine, a medication commonly used for gout, could help control advanced liver cancer in patients who could not receive treatments aimed at curing their disease. The trial involved 42 participants with advanced liver tumors and compared their outcomes to similar patients from medical records. The main goal was to see if adding colchicine to their care could help them live longer, while also monitoring for side effects.
