First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a minimally invasive procedure using detachable coils can safely treat chronic subdural hematoma, a condition where blood collects between the brain and its outer covering. About 150 adults with this condition will receive the coil treatment, and doctors will measure changes in hematoma size and whether the bleed returns. The goal is to reduce the need for repeat surgeries.
