First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looked at whether cognitive stimulation therapy (CST) — structured group activities like word games, music, and quizzes — can improve thinking skills and engagement in people with mild-to-moderate dementia living in long-term care. Ten residents took part in 45-60 minute sessions twice a week for 7 weeks. Researchers measured changes in cognition and engagement before and after the program to see if CST made a difference.
