Can a new pill save insulin cells in LADA diabetes?
NCT ID NCT07460336
First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a drug called cofrogliptin can help preserve the cells that make insulin in adults with latent autoimmune diabetes (LADA). LADA is a slow-progressing form of diabetes where the immune system attacks these cells. About 84 adults will take either standard treatment (metformin, insulin, and vitamin D) or standard treatment plus cofrogliptin for one year. The main goal is to see if cofrogliptin helps maintain insulin production better than standard care alone.
