Morning joe for your gut? coffee tested to speed surgery recovery
NCT ID NCT04547868
Summary
This study tested whether drinking coffee after abdominal surgery helps patients' digestive systems recover faster. Researchers gave 174 patients either regular coffee, decaf coffee, or warm water three times a day after their operations. The main goal was to see if a larger future trial would be practical, while also checking if coffee reduced the time until patients passed gas or had a bowel movement.
