New hearing implant electrodes aim to sharpen speech understanding
NCT ID NCT04610112
Summary
This study tested two new types of cochlear implant electrodes in adults with severe-to-profound hearing loss who got little help from hearing aids. Researchers measured whether the implants improved people's ability to understand single words in quiet settings six months after activation, compared to their hearing with aids before surgery. The goal was to confirm the safety and performance of these specific implant designs under normal use.
