Scientists test healing gel to protect hearing during implant surgery
NCT ID NCT06545175
Summary
This early-stage trial is testing the safety of a special gel called VSF1.01, which is made from human stem cell particles. The gel is applied inside the inner ear during cochlear implant surgery for people with profound hearing loss. Researchers hope it will reduce damage from the surgery and help preserve the hearing nerve, potentially leading to better results from the implant.
