New implant electrodes tested to help people hear better
NCT ID NCT04610112
Summary
This study tested two new types of cochlear implant electrodes in adults with severe-to-profound hearing loss who don't get enough benefit from hearing aids. Researchers wanted to see if these new electrodes were safe and if they helped people understand speech better than hearing aids alone. Participants had their hearing tested before surgery and again six months after getting the implant to measure improvement.
