New hope for seniors with One-Sided deafness: implant study shows promise

NCT ID NCT05250414

Summary

This study tested whether a cochlear implant could safely help older adults who are deaf in one ear but have normal hearing in the other. Fifteen participants aged 65 and older received the implant and were followed for one year. Researchers measured if the device improved their ability to understand speech, especially in noisy environments.
