Experimental pill tested to shrink dangerous blood vessel tangles

NCT ID NCT05125471

Summary

This study tested whether a drug called cobimetinib, taken as a daily pill for 3 weeks at a time, is safe and can shrink abnormal tangles of blood vessels located outside the brain (extracranial arteriovenous malformations). It involved a very small group of 3 participants, aged 2 to 80, who had these difficult-to-treat lesions. The main goal was to see if the drug could reduce the size of the malformation by at least 20%.
