First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding a special carbon dioxide (CO2) treatment to standard wound care helps heal hard-to-treat diabetic foot ulcers. Thirty adults with diabetes and recurrent foot ulcers received either standard care alone or standard care plus CO2 therapy for 4 weeks. The goal was to see if more ulcers healed completely and if tissue oxygen levels improved.
