Pilot project tests if sharing vaccine costs boosts uptake

NCT ID NCT06489964

Summary

This study is testing a new way to pay for vaccines. It aims to see if a co-payment model, where the cost is shared between the patient and the government, makes certain recommended but unfunded vaccines more accessible and acceptable. The project will run in up to 8 community pharmacies in Nova Scotia and Ontario, involving 600 people and pharmacy staff. Researchers will use surveys to see if this model is a feasible and acceptable way to increase vaccination rates.
