Seeking a better warning sign for dangerous virus after transplants

NCT ID NCT07286461

Summary

This study aims to find better ways to monitor for a dangerous virus called CMV in adults who have received a stem cell transplant. Researchers will track 290 patients to see if measuring different virus markers in the blood (CMV-RNA and TTV-DNA) can more accurately predict when the CMV virus becomes active and requires treatment, compared to the current standard test. The goal is to improve patient monitoring and help doctors decide when to start or stop preventive antiviral medication.
